It is a trekking towards the beautiful Mansiri Himalayan range, which provides us magnificent views of Mt. Manaslu (8163m), one of the tallest mountains of our earth and also, magnificent view of Himalchuli(7,893m.), Ngadi Chuli (7,871 m), Langpo (6,668 m) and many more Himalayas spreading happiness to the Trekkers. Mt. Manaslu is the highest peak of this range and is located about 65 kilometers east of Annapurna range.
The route leads us along pine-forested village with a background of many peaks, towards the foot of Manaslu. Instead of natural elegance, it is one of the Buddhist territories too, with ancient monasteries at Samagaon, and still the residence of monks and nuns. After half day trek from Samagaon, we will reach the village Samdo. Samdo is the village lies at the highest altitude in the Budhi Gandaki valley with the inhabitant by Bhotias. Afterwards, the trail leads us along the valley towards the Larkha La, is our destination. This circuit is a combination of natural glory as well as cultural grandeur and very rich in bio-diversity, so provides us lots of fun and entertainment as well as, lots of knowledge and experiences.
This route offers us not the only beautiful view of Cheo Himal, Himlung Himal and Kang Guru, Annapurna, but also the river valley of the Dudh Khola (a tributary of Marsyangdi river), Marsyangdi river, Chepe Khola ( River) and Dorandi Khola (River), Budhi Gandaki River.

Detail Itineraries
- Day 01Arrival in KathmanduArrive at Tribhuban International Airport, you will bring to the hotel after a warm welcome from our airport representative or tour operator. You can enjoy your free time. In the evening, greet from our tour operator or tour guide for the required information about the program also for a short briefing about the whole program. Overnight at a hotel in Kathmandu.
- Day 02The day is reserved for to explore Kathmandu (1350m)After breakfast, the day’s sightseen tour will begins. First of all, we will visit the Kathmandu Darbar Square, the existing legend of cultural and historic civilization of the people of Nepal. Here we can enjoy by observing beautiful ancient Royal palace, fully emblazoned traditional Nepalese wood craftsmanship and several pagodas. In the evening, we will visit the Swayambhunath, a Stupa (a beautiful Buddhist temple), is the place for pursuing peace between devotees, also, the perfect place to observe the beauties of Kathmandu valley by standing in the middle of the city. Drive back to the hotel for overnight.
- Day 03Drive from Kathmandu to Sotikhola [710m] 7 -8 hours Our bus picks you up early in the morning to Sotikhola. We will drive, along such amazing landscape which offers us beautiful sceneries of country sides of Nepal, mostly along river Valley of Trishuli River, through Sal forest and terraces of rice also as usual, the beautiful scenery of lots of mountains. We will be driving along the paved road from Kathmandu to Dhading Bensi, (1050m) but the drive from Dhanding Bensi to Arughat will be on a graveled road. After short break in Arughat, we will continue our drive towards the Soti khola (a River). Overnight in Soti Khola at a lodge with full board.
- Day 04Soti Khola (710m) - Maccha Khola [900m]: 6 - 7 hours, uphill 700m and downhill 400mToday is the starting day of our multiple days trekking. Our trek starts from Soti Khola, after crossing the suspension bridge our trail lead us along the beautiful Sal forests, then uphill onto the ridge of huge the waterfall of Budhi Gandaki and then we reach Khursane walking along a rocky trail up and down. Eventually downhill, across the rice terraces, then uphill, then we will reach the Gurung village of Labubesi. We further climb up a rocky ridge, to touch the valley Budhi Gandaki. Descending along the sandy riversides, we will walk along rounded step forward climbing over a side ridge. We will head downhill to the river again and cross another suspension bridge to reach Machha Khola village. Overnight in Machha Khola with full board.
- Day 05Day 5: Maccha Khola (900m) -Jagat [1410m/ 4625 ft]: 6 - 7 hrs, uphill 950m and downhill 450m The narrow trail takes along some up and downs and crosses the Tharo Khola and reaching Khorlabesi. After all, some few ascending and descending we will meet a small natural hot spring at Tatopani. From shot spring, we will climb and cross the Budhi Gandaki with the help of a suspension bridge over the Yaru Khola, we will climb the stairs and then descend to the river and again uphill with stairs to Tharo Bharyang. Upon crossing the west bank of the Budhi Gandaki, we will climb along the river and then climb towards the village of Jagat. Overnight in Jagat with full board.
- Day 06Jagat – Deng([1,804m): 6 - 7 hrs approx 850m uphill and 400 m downhill}Today, we will follow the narrow trails by climbing over a rocky ridge to Salleri, then descend over the suspension bridge to meet a Gurung village at Philim. Then we will descend and turn north and stays on a fairly level trail as it crosses to Ekle Bhatti. Now the trail enters to the steep gorge, we will descend to the grassland, cross the Budhi Gandaki, along the west bank, then cross to the east bank. As we continue through the trail across the narrow valley, bamboo forests to the Deng Khola and after that crossing the a river, we will reach the village of Deng. Overnight in Deng with full board.
- Day 07Deng - Namrung [2630m]: 6 - 7 hrs uphill 950m and downhill 400m After a short trek, we will cross the Budhi Gandaki and uphill to Rana, and then we will reach the valley of Budhi Gandaki. Today, we have to cross the Budi Gandaki several times and at the bank of the river get a chance to explore the several Gombas (Monasteries). Then after, we will walk along the trail through a dense forest, continuing pleasant walk, final uphill to reach Namrung. Overnight in Namrung with full board.
- Day 08Namrung – Samagaon (3530m): 6-7 hours uphill approx.1050m and downhill approx.200mFrom Namrung village we will get very beautiful views for Siring and Ganesh Himal also the view of Himchuli. Then after we will uphill through the forest and pass it to reach Lihi, the Buddhist village with many chhortens also barley terraces. The trail descends and crosses the valley of Simnang Himal. We further cross the Sho, Lho and Shyala villages reach the Sama Village. We thankful with the views of Mt. Manaslu from Lho village and also explores the famous Ribung Gompa. In Shyala village we would be surrounding by high mountains like Himchuli and Ngadi Chuli, Manaslu and a large glaciers straight ahead and lots of other summits in another side and at the end, stands Ganesh Himal. Today’s journey ends in Samagaon where we will spend our night with full board.
- Day 09Samagaon: day for acclimatization and rest or alternatively Samagaon - Pungyen gompa - Samagaon: Day excursion (6 - 7 hours, optional)
- Day 10Samagaon - Samdo [3860m]: 4 - 5 hours uphill 400m The downhill trail takes us towards the Budhi Gandaki River and further following the trail we meet the several Mani walls and gradually the valley begins to widen. We will continue our walking along the river bank passing through the juniper and Birch forests of Kermo Kharka. Again, further the trail remains descending and cross the wooden bridge of Budhi Gandaki and then after the climb up between two splits of the river and finally we will find Samdo. Overnight in Samdo with full board.
- Day 11Rest Day in Samdo This is another day for acclimatization. We have two options for today. One is, we can hike to the Samdo valley directly. This hike takes us along one of the old trade route to Tibet and also we will get magnificent views of Mt. Manaslu, including Simrang, Hiunchuli, Ngadi, Larkye Peak, Cheo and Kang Guru. On the way to it, we will enjoy by beautiful sights of birds like the Lophophorus, Lammergeyer and Himalayan Griffin etc. Another option for today could be a trip to the Gya La (pass) to the north of Samdo, a more frequently used trading route to Tibet. But, this is a rather long and takes a whole day. Overnight in Samdo with full board.
- Day 12Samdo - Dharamsala/Larkya Base camp (4460m): 4 - 5 hours uphill 700 mInitially, the trail leads us downhill till the river valley. After crossing the wooden bridge of the Budi Ghandaki river, gradually the trail starts to climb up and cross the two streams by observing the Larkya Glacier and go around the valley of the Salka Khola and ascend again to a guest house (4450 m) at Larke Phedi. Today we have short trek so enough time for acclimatization and relaxing in the afternoon. Overnight in Dharmashala with full board.
- Day 13Dharamsala - Larkya La (5160m) - Bimthang (3720m): 8-9 hours uphill 800m and downhill 1550m After a short ascent, we will reach a valley on the north side of the Larkya Glaciers with the magnificent view of Cho Danda and Larkya Peak after that we have to cross the ridge and moraine of the glacier which is the last section of the pass. From the pass, we will get again magnificent views of Himlung Himal, Cheo Himal, Kangguru and Annapurna II. The day, today is longer than usual days, but walking along such an amazing landscape and glorious nature with the magnificent views of Mt. Manasalu, we will forget our difficulties. Overnight in Bimthang with full board.
- Day 14Bimthang - Tilije [2300m]: 6 - 7 hours uphill 400m and downhill 1750mAfter breakfast with the magnificent view of Mt. Manaslu, Lamjung Himal, Himlung Himal and Cheo Himal in Bimthang, we will descend to reach the Sangure Kharka to the other side of Dudh Khola. Our trail goes along rhododendron forest and follows through a narrow valley until the highest cultivated region of the valley at Karche at 2785m. After that we will walk along the meadow before making uphill till to reach in the village of Gho. Further, to find better lodges, we will move to Tilije. Overnight in Tilije Village with full board.
- Day 15Tilije - Tal (1700m): 5 - 6 hours, uphill approx. 400m and downhill approx. 1200mAt the beginning, we will climb in a small ridge to cross the beautiful village. To reach another village, Thonje, we have to cross the Dudh Khola and after that slightly uphill across a Mani wall Then we will continue our walking till Dharapani, where we entered the Annapurna circuit section. Further down, we will pass the Karte village, then cross Marshyangdi Khola along some Mani walls. Finally, we will reach the village of Tal, situated at the foot of a large waterfall. Overnight in Tal with full board.
- Day 16Tal - Syange (1080m): 6 - 7 hours, uphill approx. 700m and downhill approx. 1200m Our todays’ trail leads us along the Chyamje village over Marshyangdi Khola to Marsyandi valley. It’s a beautiful valley of the beautiful farmer village and their terrace farming surrounding by the many high hills. The trail then descends through rhododendron and lines, forests to Syange. Overnight in Syange with full-board.
- Day 17Syange - Kathmandu: 8-9 hours The day is reserved for to drive back to Kathmandu from Syange via Besi Sahar. The serpentine road offers us unforgettable memories of stunning mountain landscapes and terrace farming, most often along the banks of the Marsyangdi and Trishuli rivers and along some beautiful villages and finally arrived in Kathmandu, which is our optimal destination of the journey. There will be a farewell dinner in the evening to celebrate the successful completion of our journey. Overnight in Kathmandu at a hotel.
- Day 18Fly Back to Home TownTransfer to international airport and fly back to hometown.
Trip Note
Physical Condition & Experience Requirements:
This is a moderate trek and suitable for passionate walkers with the ability to walk at least 5-7 hours a day with a light day pack. But, we don not forget that walking in higher altitudes is more physically demanding than walking in lower altitudes; however, if you are in good condition in health with average physical fitness and have a positive attitude, self-confidence and a strong determination, you can accomplish this trek successfully. Exercising and jogging regularly for some weeks prior to the trip is a good idea to enhance your strength and stability. Past hiking experience would be an asset, but no technical skill is required for this trip. Participants with pre-existing medical conditions such as heart, lung, and blood diseases are required to consult their doctor before taking the trip.

Acclimatization and Safety:
High altitude Sickness (HAS) can be life threatening if elevation is gained too rapidly without proper acclimatization. Overexertion and dehydration contribute to HAS. So, drink at least 3-4 litters of water every day besides tea and coffee which act as diuretics. The altitude sickness is often characterized by the following symptoms: Headache, dizziness, difficulty breathing, tiredness and insomnia. Enough time to acclimatize, slowly moving, avoiding smoking and alcohol, positive feeling, lots of drink and sufficient rest can avoid the altitude sickness. For the emergency, bring pain killers that do not make you sleepy. If you are heart patients or those who have hypertension; should consult with your doctor before leaving to travel.
Climate:
Mainly, there are two seasons, spring (March, April and May) and autumn )September, October and November) as the best season for trekking in Nepal. During those seasons, the temperature is acceptable and weather may mostly clear, but preparing for all short of the temperature is obligatory because in such altitude, the weather is undefined. Please bring warm clothes, Thermal underwear, down jacket and down sleeping bag. Also in in Himalaya regions, there is a very big difference in temperature during the day and at night. Please also have a linen cloth (inner sleeping bag), sunglasses, sunscreen with a high sun protection factor.
